BATAM ISLAND

Batam is an island and town in Riau Islands Province of Indonesia, known for its free trade zone area as part of the Growth Triangle Sijori, located 20 km (12.5 miles) off the southern coast of Singapore. 715 km ² (276 mi ²) island has a population of 949 775 (June 2010).
Batam indigenous ethnic Malays and they spoke with accents Malay-Linga which is also a Malay accent in Singapore and Malaysia Pahang, Johor and Selangor.
